Do I need a Salesforce admin to enable Pipeline Opportunity Matching in Priority Engine?

No, but you will need a Priority Engine admin. Pipeline opportunity matching can be enabled with a simple toggle by a Priority Engine Admin. You do not need your Salesforce admin to activate it. Simply follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to your ROI Dashboard
  2. Scroll down to “Pipeline Impact by Stage”
  3. Activate the “Allow pipeline data sync” toggle on the right-hand side of your screen

Please note that the syncing process may take some time the first time it is activated. After the initial sync, it will be automatically updated regularly.

How does Priority Engine Widget data get into Salesforce?

In short, Priority Engine transmits and reads data to match to Salesforce (SFDC) objects. It does not write any data to SFDC objects.

Priority Engine transmits a small number of identifying SFDC Lead, Contact, and Account data points used to match objects with Priority Engine companies. TechTarget also transmits a small number of identifying SFDC Organization and User data points to authenticate, provide usage logs, and support email notification features. All data is transferred to Priority Engine using HTTPS. To facilitate account matching, TechTarget leverages the domain portion of a contact’s email address to pair it with the account on the TechTarget side.

Example: If the SFDC widget is on the contact page for john@ford.com, the widget strips out the personally identifiable information (PII), which is “john@.” It then sends the domain, “ford.com” to TechTarget, which Priority Engine uses to show matching account details.

Takeaway: No PII is transmitted during the account matching process.

Can I make changes to widget permission levels or subscription keys after it’s been installed?

If you would like to make changes to the widget after it’s already been installed, we recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the widget for the best results. If you prefer to make adjustments without installing, you can do so with the following steps:

  1. Locate “Installed Packages” in the setup section, finding TechTarget IT Deal Alert™: Priority Engine and selecting configure.
  2. On the setup screen replace the current alphanumeric key with your new verification key
  3. Save the configuration.

How does the widget work for duplicate account entries and complex account hierarchies?

Priority Engine matches accounts by using the email domain of the contacts associated with that account.

For example: If a Salesforce instance shows three different accounts for Ford i.e. Ford, Ford Inc., and Ford  USA, as long as the email domain for the contacts associated with those accounts is “ford.com” Priority Engine will supply the same information for each account.

This ensures that discrepancies in spelling, categorization, or complex account hierarchies rarely affect matching. Subsidiaries can be differentiated in most cases because most subsidiaries have a different email domain than their parent company.

What does the widget show if there is no match?

It will indicate in Salesforce that there is no account match. For accounts that have at least one contact, not being able to match at all is very rare.

What does the widget show if there is a match but no recent data?

It will indicate that the account is not active at this time.

Why is the widget showing extra blank space at the bottom?

Extra space underneath the widget is caused by inputting the incorrect sizing during setup. The height of the widget should be 420 pixels and can be adjusted under the Visualforce Page Properties section during installation. Please refer to our page on Installing the Priority Engine Widget into Salesforce for details.
