With single sign-on capabilities, accessing Priority Engine through Salesforce is automatic and requires no additional login steps, making it easy for reps to quickly access the insights they need. Simply click on any prompt on the widget and you will be taken to the full account details page. To learn more about the specific insights displayed in the Insights Widget, please visit the Account Detail Page overview.

How to Install the Priority Engine Insights Widget

The widget takes less than 10 minutes to set up and can be done by anyone who is a Salesforce and Priority Engine admin. The Insights Widget can be set up to appear on account, lead, or contact records.

How does the Priority Engine Insights Widget data get into Salesforce?

Priority Engine transmits and reads data to match to Salesforce objects. It does not write any data to Salesforce objects.

Priority Engine transmits a small number of identifying Salesforce Lead, Contact, and Account data points used to match objects with Priority Engine companies. TechTarget also transmits a small number of identifying Salesforce Organization and User data points to authenticate, provide usage logs, and support email notification features. All data is transferred to Priority Engine using HTTPS. To facilitate account matching, TechTarget leverages the domain portion of a contact’s email address to pair it with the account on the TechTarget side.

Example: If the Insights Widget is on the contact page for john@ford.com, the Widget strips out the personally identifiable information (PII), which is “john@.” It then sends the domain, “ford.com” to TechTarget, which Priority Engine uses to show matching account details.

Takeaway: No PII is transmitted during the account matching process.

How is this achieved?

On an account page, Priority Engine looks at the top 10 email addresses of the contacts associated with the account. On a lead or contact page, the lead or contact email is used. The account name/domain pair from this process is then saved in order to make the matching process faster in the future.

Please Note: Salesforce data is encrypted and stored using 128-bit AES on TechTarget servers. The private encryption key is not stored in TechTarget’s databases. Salesforce users accessing pages that contain the Priority Engine Insights Widget are recorded for troubleshooting and reporting on Priority Engine usage.
